It Is Predestined!

God promisses us that the battle will come to an end.
Rom 8,29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

The light will overcome the darkness
John 1,5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

until that time, however, we are in process

1. John 3,1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

This is not perfectly manifested at this time
because of the ongoing influence of the pattern of the world in our minds.


YET
according to the New Testament,
this si not something for which the believer is supposed to sit and wait.

AS WE SAW
the New Testament assumes that we can and must begin enjoying our true nature
over against our old selves
in the present.

YET
as we also saw,
this is not something we are to strive dor on our own effort.
We are called to manifest our true identity, NOT "TRY HARDER" to acquire an identity on our own.
Indeed, striving on our own to acquire our identity can be the very thing that keeps us from manifesting our true identity.
HOW THEN DO WE GROW IN MANIFESTING OUR TRUE IDENTITY?
As we will see,
we do it primarily be resting and experiencing the truth of who we are in Christ.
