Acts25,13 A few days later King Agrippa and Bernice arrived at Caesarea to pay their respects to Festus. 14 Since they were spending many days there, Festus discussed Paul's case with the king. He said: There is a man here whom Felix left as a prisoner. > What does he say about the case Paul?
When I went to Jerusalem, the chief priests and elders of the Jews brought charges against him and asked that he be condemned. > Who was accusing
I told them that it is not the Roman custom to hand over any man before he has faced his accusers and has had an opportunity to defend himself against their charges. > Lets be moe slow - IN ANY CONFLICT = CHRISTOPH BE SLOW! But be wise - am i wise?NO => GOD HELP ME!
When they came here with me, I did not delay the case, but convened the court the next day and ordered the man to be brought in. > OK - he is doing good
When his accusers got up to speak, they did not charge him with any of the crimes I had expected. > Wow - interesting, he thought about crime, when he realized the anger of the people against Paul. This is very interesting: my Anger against some one can become so intense, that others sometime feel, some one killed me. When i explane it to other, they may feel more like - why are you so emotional?
Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus whom Paul claimed was alive. > This is awesome:"the dead man named Jesus - but Paul would say he is alive!!!" SO REAL!!!
I was at a loss how to investigate such matters; so I asked if he would be willing to go to Jerusalem and stand trial there on these charges. > This is not making sence. he sais: I WAS A LOSS, HOW TO INVESTIGATE SUCH MATTERS. What if the priest would be perfectly calm and peaceful about it? Would he say i was at loss or would he say i do not care i just let him go. I think, he was afraid of the priests and so he says, i do not know!
When Paul made his appeal to be held over for the Emperor's decision, I ordered him to be held until I could send him to Caesar. > He was happy! - He is reporting accurate...
Then Agrippa said to Festus, I would like to hear this man myself. He replied, Tomorrow you will hear him. > Tomorrow - interesting case!
