2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. > I have to be faithful to the entrusted things. AM I ?
3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. > No idea what does it mean - every body is permanently judging him self. more or less. How does he do that?
4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. > If it just my conscience who makes me feel fine - it does not mean anything. It is the Lord who judges me. > What the Lord does think and judge me - this is it.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. > EXPOSE THE MOTIVES OF MEN's HEART - OF MY HEART. WHY AM I DOING WHAT I AM DOING! THIS IS ALL ABOUT IT! At that time each will receive his praise from God.
6 Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, Do not go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over against another. > Don't do it! Do i do that? Do i take pride over a other brother?
7 For who makes you different from anyone else? > I know - nothing!
What do you have that you did not receive? > Nothing - i know!
And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? > No reason why i would do that - still i do it - i guess because i am so insecure! I need to aprove myself!
8 Already you have all you want! > OK
Already you have become rich! > Yes - i do often not realize it or believe it!
You have become kings- and that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you!
9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, > HOW PAUL FEELS like men condemned to die in the arena. > HOW PAUL FEELS We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men. > HOW PAUL FEELS.
10 We are fools for Christ, > often i am not! I am prideful! but you are so wise in Christ! > I CAN UNDERSTAND PAUL! We are weak, but you are strong! > I UNDERSTAND PAUL You are honoured, we are dishonoured! > ... PAUL IS SO OPEN - IT SOUNDS SARCASTIC - EVEN FRUSTRATED!
11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, > I am not - i am to comfortable. we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. > No i am not - i am to comfortable.
I AM SO STUPID COMFORTABLE. WHAT IS GOING ON GOD WITH ME! WHY DO I HAVE SO LITTLE FAITH!?
12 We work hard with our own hands. > No i don't. When we are cursed, we bless; > SO DIFFICULT TO DO. when we are persecuted, we endure it; > I have such a easy life.
13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly. > BE KIND CHRISTOPH - BE KIND AL THE TIME ALL THE TIME. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world. > How in the world can Paul enjoy being a Christian if he feels like this. Be a Christina on such a crazy mission-trip like he is on!
14 I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children. > Warn you from what!?
15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. /
> I don't know why Paul is saying this.16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me. > IMITATE ME, says Paul. WOULD I EVER BE ABLE TO SAY THAT? Brother X, imitate me. ? - is my life worth to be imitated?
17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church. > The teaching of Paul was visible in his life. Life and teaching in Paul was the same!
18 Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you. > Paul just is direct!
19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. > It is not about talking!
20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?
> OK, i read it quickly now.
I see how Paul feels.
I see what he endures.
I see i am comfortable.
I guess i just see the Vers20: FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT A MATTER OF TALK BUT OF POWER!
how much talk i do provide! I do people leed to! Talk, writing, agreeing, jus words all the time!
