Acts20,1 After we had torn ourselves away from them,
> Did i ever torn myselve away from someone - - Why are my relationships so superficial?
we put out to sea and sailed straight to Cos.
> how was life on a ship - the hole time. having no small Bible with them ... what did they do. From what did they quote ? - ?
The next day we went to Rhodes and from there to Patara. > Ship days again.
2 We found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, went on board and set sail. > Sailing - they most have been deeply brown -burnt by the sun
3 After sighting Cyprus and passing to the south of it, we sailed on to Syria. We landed at Tyre, where our ship was to unload its cargo. > Waiting
4 Finding the disciples there, > Waiting but seeking. How did they found them Often i heard in the past this stories where a brother on a business-trip went in to a town. He did not know about where the church is. But he did know, that they would evangelize. So he evangelized and found evangelizing brothers and sisters. What would happen today?
we stayed with them seven days.
> They stayed their.
Through the Spirit they urged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. > The Spirit is urging them!
5 But when our time was up, we left and continued on our way. > They did not listen to the spirit!
All the disciples and their wives and children accompanied us out of the city, and there on the beach we knelt to pray. > They prayed again. All together. Kneeling!
6 After saying good-bye to each other, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home. > It was less emotional - less relationships-connection. This is a description i am familiar with. Paul had so different relationships with the brothers and sisters he converted ...
7 We continued our voyage from Tyre and landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day. > Brothers and Sisters every where. Like today! But also - the gospel spred so fast!
8 Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven. > Who?
9 He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied. > What?
10 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. > Who?
11 Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, The Holy Spirit says, 'In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.' > OK & now?
12 When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. > It is almost like with Jesus - Peter tells him not to go. Thomas ones said, ok lets go all with him and die with him.
13 Then Paul answered, Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. > AM I READY? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TODAY? What is to hard today, that i would do it. Sometimes i feel to die is easy, because all is over then.
14 When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, The Lord's will be done. > THE LORD'S WILL BE DONE. LORD's WILL AGAINST PAULS WILL? Several times, Paul could not go where he wanted to go. the Spirit would not let him go. Like this it could be here too. The Spirit let him go.
15 After this, we got ready and went up to Jerusalem. > OK now!!!!1
16 Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us and brought us to the home of Mnason, where we were to stay. > They never had to find a Hotel over pay for the staying. The family of God takes car every where!!! He was a man from Cyprus and one of the early disciples. > Someone who was their from the beginning.
Travelling - no Bible. - What was their devotional.... What am i doing.?. Now i am reading the resurrection book. I want to grow in my conviction that Jesus lives now! i want to collect as many facts as possible. I want to be able to talk about this!
I want to grow in my faith about this. I want, that my life actually changes because this fact is so powerful.
AM I READY TO DIE TODAY?
AM I READY TO GIVE UP EVRY THING TODAY BECAUSE OF CHRIST?
What not?
Comfort?
I wish to take a day to spend it alone with God. - how about that? What would i read? Psalms maybe. How about that. Every month a special time with God?
Need to aks Terry!
